A and B start walking simultaneously, eastwards and westwards respectively, and both cover a distance of 5 km. Then A turns to his left and walks 10 km. The above fig. shows the movements of A and B.

We have to find A'B'

A'B' = A'F+FB'

FB’= AB – (AC + BD + OD)

= [20 –(5 + 5 + 5) =] 5km

∴ A'B' = [5 + 5 ] = 10 km

[A'F = 5 km, from the fig.]
